Mustang 3

Two days later we arrived in Lo Manthang, the walled city that is the capital of what used to be the separate kingdom of Mustang.
We arrived filthy and exhausted only to find out that our guest house was equally dirty and to add to the misery there was very little clean water.
Lo Manthang is home to three very old and unique Buddhist temples. Unfortunately no pictures are allowed. It is a walled city with narrow streets still filled with old snow. The king's palace is here but visitors are not allowed.  Off to the North 15 kilometers is the Chinese/ Tibet border.
We had a rest day here so we walked north to the town of
Choser where there are three monasteries and a complex of caves carved high into a hillside.
